Notice to Employers:Extension of Unused Annual Grant Ceiling under the Training Grant System for Financial Year ending 30 June 2021 up to 30 September 2021

Following the second surge of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mauritius since March 2021 whereby no face-to-face training was allowed, many employers have not been able to provide training to their employees as per their training plan and they could not benefit from the HRDC training grant system. This has been noted in spite of the new incentive provided to employers to resort to online training during the lockdown period.

With a view to support employers and to give a boost to training, the HRD Council has decided to allow employers to use the remaining balance of their annual grant ceiling as at 30 June 2021 to carry out training in the period 01 July to 30 September 2021.

The following conditions will also apply;

  • Training should be dispensed and completed in the period 01 July to 30 September 2021
  • The deadline date for submission of the G3 Application pertaining to these trainings remains the same, i.e 15 April 2022.

Employers who have completely used their annual grant ceiling for the financial year 2020/2021 can still avail of refund under the Training Grant System out of their annual grant ceiling for the financial year 2021/2022 for training starting as from 01 July 2021.

For further information, employers may contact the HRDC Call Centre on 454 4009.
