The University of Mauritius (UoM), in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), invites industry professionals, government representatives and stakeholders from the public and private sectors to participate in a Masterclass on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Vision and Applications.
The session will be delivered by Professor Xiaohong Gao, Professor of Vision Imaging in the Department of Computer Science at Middlesex University, London. Professor Gao is an established researcher in artificial intelligence, computer vision, medical imaging and medical informatics. Her research focuses particularly on the application of AI and machine learning in healthcare, including medical image analysis and early disease detection.

The Masterclass forms part of the ongoing MSc Artificial Intelligence Programme, launched in August 2024 under the HRDC’s Skills Development Support Programme for Artificial Intelligence.
Through this initiative, the HRDC and UoM reaffirm their commitment to strengthening professional capabilities in Mauritius and preparing individuals for opportunities in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
