NOTICE TO REGISTERED TRAINING INSTITUTIONS Incorrect use of ‘HRDC Approved’ & ‘HRDC Refundable’

It has come to our attention that certain Registered Training Institutions (RTIs) have been using the terms ‘HRDC Approved and HRDC Refundable in their advertisements and communications for short courses/training programmes across various platforms such as newspapers, social media and radio.

We kindly request all RTIs to refrain from using the aforementioned terms as they may lead to confusion among the public.

The HRDC wishes to clarify that the approval of short courses/training programmes is the sole prerogative of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA), the Regulatory Body for training in Mauritius. Additionally, it should be noted that the course fees /training costs are refundable by the HRDC on the condition that all criteria for the refund of training fees have been met by the employers.

Registered Training Institutions are hereby informed that the HRDC reserves the right to take legal action against any institution persisting in the use of the misleading terms mentioned above.

Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is highly appreciated.

For any queries or further clarification, please contact the HRDC.
