Launch of AHRIM Graduate Innovative Learning (AGILE)
An industry-driven training for the Tourism and Hospitality sector targeting unemployed graduates
In a bid to fill an immediate need for specific skills in the Tourism and Hospitality sector, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) and the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurants in Mauritius (AHRIM) have set up the AHRIM Graduate Innovative Learning (AGILE) programme. This industry-driven course is targeted at unemployed graduates. The programme involves training and professional work placement in 12 participating hotels for a period of one year. The graduates will be taken into employment after successfully completing their training.
The AGILE programme was officially launched by Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Minister of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research on Thursday 28 July 2016 at the HRDC Lecture Theatre, Ebène.
