Refund of cost of e-learning licences under the Levy / Grant System
Employers contributing to the Training Levy are hereby informed that the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) is now considering the refund of cost of e-learning licences under the Training Grant System. This incentive will encourage employees to learn at their own pace and space and will enable them to have access to a multiplicity of online courses.
Employers will be eligible to claim refund of the cost of e-learning licences under the following conditions:
The licence must be purchased directly from the following digital e-learning platforms: Udemy, Coursera, Udacity, Linkedin, Pluralsight, Class Central, edX and FutureLearn;
- The licences are meant for courses up to diploma level;
- Employers to submit the G1 application form to inform HRDC of their intention to purchase the licence together with a quotation for the licence mentioning its duration,
- Refund will be effected subject to successful completion of at least one of the courses and upon submission of relevant documents including receipts/bank advice, certificate of successful completion of the course amongst others;
- Deadline for submission of G3 application shall be aligned with the expiry of the licence,which is generally for a period of one year; and
- Refund will be subject to the annual grant ceiling of the employer and at the rate as appropriate.
The refund of the cost of e-learning licences is effective since 01 April 2021.
