The University of Mauritius (UoM) is developing a Masters of Science (MSc) in Financial Technology programme and has solicited the collaboration of the HRDC to this end.
In line with its function to provide a platform for interface between the industry and the academic world, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) organised an interface between the UoM and industry operators from the ICT and Financial Services Sectors as follows:

The main objective of this Interface Platform was to collect input from relevant stakeholders on how to improve the industry relevance of the MSc programme in Fintech.
The aim of the Master’s degree course is to empower students with knowledge in Finance, FinTech and Financial Analytics, help them develop the ability to solve finance-related business problems, and nurture them to better prepare for the fast-growing demand in today’s data-driven economy.
Industry associations such as the Outsourcing and Telecommunications Association of Mauritius (OTAM), Mauritius IT Industry Association (MITIA), Mauritius Bankers Association Limited (MBA),
Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub (MAFH) and Global Finance Mauritius (GFM) were invited. Operators in the field of FinTech were also present. The Financial Services Commission (FSC) and Bank of Mauritius (BoM) were present as regulators.
The draft course content developed by UoM was presented at the interface session.
