The HRDC approved a project entitled “Capacity Building in Sustainable Management of the Supply Chain for Mauritian Manufacturers” on 28 April 2022. This project was a joint collaboration between the HRDC, Association of Mauritian Manufacturers (AMM) and Buy Your Way (BYW), implemented under the Sectoral Skills Development Programme (SSDS).

32 member enterprises of AMM took part in this training programme following a call of interest. 21 enterprises had onsite visits by the trainers.

The capacity building programme comprised different steps:

1. Four structured workshops
2. Identification of challenges and customisation of needs
3. Online theoretical training sessions
4. Practical touch: Onsite Visits to 20 participating enterprises and sharing of case studies through workshops
5. Public dissemination

The desire outcomes were as follows:

• Create awareness on the need to have sustainable/green supply chains in the sector and its benefits.
• Provide a ‘transformation roadmap’ on the Sustainable Supply Chain Management theme through capacity building in this field.
• Help enterprises achieve greater efficiency, cost savings and be more responsible at each process of the supply chain.
• Identification of a series of implementable projects in this direction.

AMM is now organising a dissemination and a closing ceremony whereby participants, industry representatives and training institutions (public and private) will be invited as per details below:
